A thousand people walk past a scene like that every day without even being concious of it. And yet it grabs a photographer's eye. Just an hour or so of sun and it will only exist in a photograph.
Thanks to all! As usual its a lousy scan which doesn't do the print justice. I printed this last night on RC paper using a few books as data sources for f stop printing and factored in dry down etc. I am reasonably happy with it and will now try it on Oriental Seagull 11x14 for some added depth

"It's been said that a passionate photographer, effectively lives 300yrs"
That explains the grey hairs plus I must be getting old because I don't understand what the quote signifies?

Oh sorry - bit vague, didn't mean you are old LOL! I was referring to Neal's apt description of the observant photographer. A few yrs ago, I commented on another photographer\'s powers of observation in capturing something that the average person probably would not see, when another elder and well respected photographer overheard and said to me "...a photographer effectively lives 300yrs". It really appealed - and kind of always stuck .
Grey hairs - well some negatives certainly can give those!
