Taken in October '05 while in Vegas for business. Taken with Rollei TLR, which generated many comments. Elvis even said his brother had owned one. This was taken across from the new Wynn hotel, don't know the name of the building, but it was very photogenic. Image was shot looking straight up, which is rather easy with a TLR. Scanned from 8x9 print.
I am intrigued. It is like a puzzle picture. What is the cylinder like structure? It seems to be anchored to the sides by wire hawsers and angle iron. A bit like an ICBM poking out of a silo. In a gallery it is the sort of picture you see people looking at from all sorts of angles with their heads to one side.
Contrast must have been considerable but there's detail in everything.
There were 2 support columns (the cylinder) in this structure, and the 'roof' is an elongated oval on a slightly tilted axis (or so it seemed). This was taken looking straight up. So far as I could tell the roof is soley attached through the cables. I'm not real happy with the scan of this print. The original has great detail, especially into the darker area's, where you can pick out the cable attachment in the upper right.
