I am working on a series using urban fragments, engineering and design as a metaphor for transformation and the cycle of life, birth, death and rebirth. I love the 6X6 format as it lends itself well to creating a structure of balance and symmetry to hold a certain amount of chaos. I am also exercising technical aspects such as framing and keeping the camera level and plumb. I also enjoy the banality of concrete to demonstrate that life and character are projected. It is what we see.

Brilliant series! This one for sure infers some kind of order when it is known to be random. At first blush it is as if you have a game board photographed but upon deeper reflection its mere randomness. Phenomenology!

IMNSHO .. this is one of the finest series found here on apug.
just beautifully done, i hope you have a chance to present them
all ... "in the flesh " aaron siskind had a series of painted walls in south america,
and tar-filler on a the hope bridge ( from bristol to newport ri ) but i think this
leaves his in the dust. i love the fossilized nature of this work.

Thank you for the accolade. I am humbled by your encouragement. I have started printing this series and they look good. I am printing them in square format on 8x10" Art300. The concept for this series has become part of a greater series that is unfolding. I will be sure to scan the printed results (I have one in my gallery already but it's just a preliminary print). I love architecture and especially brutalism. There is a lot of it here in Switzerland.
