Ta Prohm

Taken almost a year ago while visiting the well-known Ta Prohm temple in the Angkor Wat area. This was one of the only views I could take that didn't have a million people in it.

I have to say that scanning the 300 is difficult with the sheen on the paper!

Rachelle- if you get back there, try going in September/October - it's the end of the "rainy" season, and there are less tourists. You only have to wait five minutes between shots if you want to keep the tourists out of them  At least that was the case when I went, but that was almost a decade ago. It might be a lot busier today all year round. Another plus to going during the rainy season - the moats around the temples are full of water so you can get nice reflection shots.

Thanks everyone. Scott -- This has been my third trip to Cambodia/Angkor Wat. I first went to Cambodia in 2001 (during the rainy season), and I can honestly say that's it not even remotely the same place as it was back then. The roads are good, there are busloads after busloads of tourists, and at this particular temple, where you used to be able to scramble around, there are wooden boardwalks everywhere that funnel people where they are supposed to go, and most of the interesting tree roots have been roped off. At least there is a platform in front of all the roots so you can stand there and take 101 shots of you and your friends standing in front of it. The amount of renovation and scaffolding present is, I suppose, good for the temple, but it sucks for the photographer!
