Merry Rollei Ortho Christmas :)

Shot with Rollei Ortho 25 in my studio during a fun-shoot with an alternative model I've worked a lot with in the past.
I wanted the result to be very sinister and dark and contrasty and the Rollei Ortho film really delivered on that.
Developed in Rodinal 1:50 for 6 minutes 30 seconds.

The negatives are a little thin on the dark background, even though the film was shot at around EI 25 (should be more defined imo), but the scene is indeed pretty dark and gloomy anyway so.....

Rollei Ortho 25 is one curly squirrel, very hard to deal with concerning scanning and printing, it may be better after a few days under pressure in my album. ^^

Nice to find her under my Christmas tree :smile: Interesting tones with the Ortho, which always gives nice dark skin. I have never used the Rollei film, but other iso 25 Orthos that I have used I have found the speed to be more like 10.

Huh...I didn't think of that but it makes sense; you learn something new every day. I'll have to give ortho film a try when I get up the nerve to do figure studies.

Thanks! The photo also says something about the low red sensitivity; the santa-hat is dark velvet-red, lips pretty punchy red and the background consist of a wine-red fabrick. I really like films with lower red sensitivity, can't stand pale lips, but the rollei is pretty far out there, so I will probaly only use it for alternative style models for people and landscape ^^I don't find the skin particulary dark, but it is probably darker than other films.

:smile: I like it; there's an almost sinister look to the print, no doubt thanks to the almost absent red sensitivity.
