I posted a kallitype print of this awhile back. Chad Jarvis encouraged me into ditching the kallitypes for awhile and to try printing in palladium. Well with most gracious help from Jorge and reading all the posts here I think I'm addicted now. I have to say that I had no idea what was involved with palladium and I've looked no further than APUG and am under way. What a terrific resource we have here.........and terrific folks!!
Mike, much better contrast on this print compared to the recent kallitype. Looks like you've gotten things working better and are going in the right direction with the palladium. I agree that this is a wonderful site with quality people.
Congratulation.
The first cut is the deepest and most memorable, not to mention, often the most expensive.
Looking forward to seeing your progress particularly with PT/PL, you could say Willis was the salt of the system - founded by a Brit. naturally!
You must keep detailed notes, and, do not throw anything way.....
Welcome to the club Mike, I wish my second print had been as good as yours. BTW, Mike also e mail me a shot of the engine he posted earlier done in palladium and I have to say it is absolutely wonderful too.......
Thank you for getting the palladium down pat! You are able to make some strong and unique images. I love the whites here, they're not muddy and very delicate. Great!
Mike, very good print. I too, have loved APUG. I can't even begin to count the ways this site has helped me in my photography. A wonderful site with great people. Just being able see such a wonderful variety of images and techniques every day is inspiring.

I love the quality of this print, and PT/PL in general. It's been years since I printed it, but back then I started to mask off the black around the image. It seems so dark and heavy around these incredibly delicate tones in the photograph. Nonethelees, very well done.
