Really nice Chad. The more I see of your cyanotypes the more I want to try that process. I love the light in the right background. It makes it look so inviting. Great work...again!
Thanks, Mike. I'm going to reprint this one, because to me it's too dark; the shadows just have no detail. It's interesting, but it lacks punch, so depite the rushing water, the scene just isn't dynamic. I'm not sure how long this one sat in the direct sun - perhaps as much as 40 minutes - but I forgot about it, and by the time I remembered it, virtually the entire print had solarized.
I like the image and the treatment works well for it. If you're going to reprint, a strong black tea bath might help separate the highlights and high mid-tones from the darker blue mid tones in this one.
It is a bit dark, but I still like the image. It's a good subject for the medium, and you have a strong sense of place. It's very inspiring. Thanks for sharing.
