ramme

an image in strange framing...

inspired by the discussion here on APUG about framing/matting, I thought I'd show an idea I got..

I went to an auction site and bought some 120 years old mahogany mirrors..

took out the mirror - turned the frame upside down, and made this print to the custom size.

Painted with light.
Liquid emulsion on VERY heavy paper.
brown toned and "hand coloured" using coffee/cigarette ashes and such stuff.

does it work?

the size is (with framing) about 120cm high and 45cm wide..
Location
Vraa, Denmark
Equipment Used
Rolleiflex SL 66
Exposure
more than one minute
I like it very much. Maybe it's because I had a similar idea myself this weekend:smile:
I think it's appropriate and almost necessary for an artist -painter, printer, sculptor, photographer, even composer- to make decisions as to how and where their work is finished and displayed.

exquisite presentation. excellent synthesis of form and content...not to mention that it is witty and unconventional...which i approve of.
