Is this good?

I'd say yes... I like the assymetric composition, as well as the opposition between the round rocks and straight pines. The general blue "tint" works fine, in contrast with the limited yellow areas.

I like it. Good strong colours and composition. If I was shooting it I might have cropped in closer to the centre of the frame so the nearest boulder was a little closer to the bottom right, but that's just my own preference. Your composition works perfectly well, it gives a good feeling of the forest floor and the space around the boulders and leads nicely to the background.

I think that the dark tree trunks draw the eye between them and onto the brightly sunlit trees in the background. This has the effect of making the large boulders secondary to the main composition point. To offset this effect I might suggest that you crop much tighter around the boulders thus lending more emphasis to them.Of course this is just my opinion but you could try it out and see what you think?PS I have just tried this crop on PSP and it looks better to me, but again it is only something that you can decide.

Actually like your composition a lot. I would crop a little off the bottom if it were mine, and also warm up the colour a fair bit..but that's just me!

If you don't crop the bottom, you could burn it in a stop. I'd also burn down the right side of the main rock.

Thanks for the critiques. Very useful. I followed some of the suggestions and found that a slightly tighter crop (removing from the bottom and right), using a (digital) warming filter, and selective burning really enhances the photo. It is very nice to be a part of an online community where constructive feedback is possible and I really appreciate it. It is certainly a lot cheaper than photography school!I remember when I was taking this photo (only my second roll of MF), I considered using a warming filter but was afraid of how Velvia, with its reputation for over saturating reds, would respond. Of course I could have always done one with and one without, but I didn't think of that until just now!
