Ian, a technical query if I may (part of my ongoing survey on view camera focusing for near-far compositions): Where did you focus? Tilts (front/back)? How did you determine the degree of tilt? How did you determine depth of field and the aperture you needed if tilts were used? Everything based on ground glass viewing?ThanksMichael
Everything is always based on Ground Glass viewing after a quick mental calculation, that determines the degree of tilt. An advantage of a few years experience with studio work makes this pretty intuitive. This is part of a series that I began shooting in the late 1980 which I've never show npublically, I can't remember the exact tilst I used but I do remember there were severe issues, using tilts to keep the the top of the dam wall sharp is easy but then there was quite a drop and the tree branchestop right. I remember I had to compromise I was also very close so had to use f45 (possibly f64) to help with the extremes of DOF. Ian

Very beautiful scene. It feels like a birds eye view. I like the tone the MCC has give you.
