Supposing the middleground with green tree and its mirror image in the water is in the main focus of this nice picture. The backgroundis nice, but perhaps you could contemplate cutting a little bit from the foreground, perhaps just above the small little stone to the left in the picture. Perhaps it would concentrate the picture to its essentials; I'm not sure, but you could think about it - if you are asking for an advice as to an exhibition print. BTW, perhaps due to the scan, but the very white highlight on the stone in the foreground seems to lack definition, as the very black things in the hill in the middleground. /Bertil
Paul I would agree with Bertil regarding cropping the foreground just below the large stones on the LHS. The other thing that caught my eye is that the far edge of the lake is not horizontal, so I would advice you to correct that before you print it. I would also agree about the highlight on the near stones. But it is a good shot never the less.
Thanks for the advice guys, I thought I had corrected that horizon already, the black thing in the middleground hill is actually exposed peat so believe it or not it's very dark brown almost black in colour, not sure what I can do with the white blown out area of stone without bringing it into the dreaded photoshop, I'll reduce the brightness a little, crop it and make a small print and see what it's like, thanks again for the advice.
