There are two photgraphs in the pic. the upper half and the lower. but not both. the lower is very strong on it's own but and the upper the same. both together are fighting each.

Thanks Michael, I often agonize about this one and by moving the shot up and down on my monitor I think that a square crop may work by including some of the rocks.
I have tried a crop of just the sand patterns but was not all that happy with it, maybe just the way I visualized the shot in the first place. Sometimes you need to step away from a picture which is why commentsfrom APUG are valuable.
