I'm really struggling to produce acceptabe digital images of my prints for upload. The original has greater contrast, and more visceral tonality - it feels like molten chocolate to me. The digital image is less sharp, and has less tonal depth.
Andrew great photo! I too had your affliction (scans w no contrast and blacks missing), then went to DPUG and they fixed me up. Check it out, maybe this will work, if not post a thread there, like mine and you will be in good form. Scan talk is not on topic at Apug. My thread at DPUG:http://www.dpug.org/forums/f6/where-did-my-blacks-go-scanning-prints-101-needed-2813/?highlight=Wish you the best, Andy
Thanks Andy - will check your thread on DPUG, appreciate your pointing me to it. Of course one difference is that this is not a scan - I don't have a scanner - it's a digital photograph of the print!
