Unlike many of your images to which I'm drawn, this one has me asking "Why?" Like you, I have no problem with creating an image which is not in sharp focus, however with this one what was done is obvious the "why" is not. "Lila, Diffused" is, in my opinion, a striking image. For me, this one misses.

I also wonder about what this effect suggests. It's a very interesting idea, but in this case, frankly, it just seems that you censored the body! Beautiful tones and light throughout, though.

These are fair responses. This picture wasn't planned. When working with Eva, I pre-visualized shooting through non glare picture frame glass, which I used to use in the backgrounds of my product shots back in the day. I had always wanted to play around with this glass. So, while Eva perched on a stool, I set up a large piece of the glass between two light stands and when I stepped back, it looked interesting and I took the photo I posted recently, called ''First Shot - Carbon Print.'' Then I went to reposition the camera, and ''saw'' exactly what this picture shows, Eva's head and shoulders sharp above the glass. In a way it's a ''found'' shot, and I found it amusing, in the true sense of the word. Afterward I realized that it ''censored the body'' and found that also interesting since this picture is part of an extended series, mostly nudes. This was the first print in this series to sell, for what was, for me, big bucks , to a Brazilian collector. I thank you for your considered comments. - Doug
