These photos were taken with my restored Agfa Isolette III. I made the developer as an experiment. It's Parodinal. A Rodinal copy made from crushed Tylenol tablets, Drain cleaner and Sodium Sulfite
Used in the same manner and dilution of 1:50 Rodinal, I love the result. tell me what you think...
Parodinal film developer
Water 250 ml
Acetaminophen 30x 500mg tablets
Sodium Sulfite (anhydrous) 50 g
Sodium Hydroxide (anhydrous) 20 g
(The Sodium Sulfite I ordered from Photographers formulary, and the Sodium Hydroxide is actually 100% Lye drain cleaner from Ace Hardware. The Acetaminophen is actually a bargain brand, because tylenol has gone to ALL gel caps... Just use a cheap electric coffee grinder to grind up the 30 pills... I waited 40 days to use it because I was on an extended business trip out of state.)
Mixing instructions: Add chemicals in specified sequence. LET STAND IN SEALED CONTAINER 72 HOURS BEFORE USING
Dilution: as Rodinal
Starting point development time: as Rodinal
Notes: Keep crystals from bottom of container with liquid when decanting, stir before drawing off concentrate for dilution. Use within 30 mins of dilution. Acetaminophen is sold as Paracetamol or Tylenol and is available from any pharmacy.
Please note that this formula has a maximum shelf life of 90 days. (Most likely more...just like Rodinal)
