Nice image. The scene is certainly about the "light". I placed a sheet of paper over the image to "crop out" the black line on the left edge and about half of the adjoining white wall. In addition, I "cropped" the black wall on the right side of the print, and left the structure on the white wall there. I also tried to make the life guard station straight rather then biased/tilted at the top to the right. To my eyes, the image is improved. See if you agree. If so, is there a way to crop? If not, no big deal. Nice light. Many thanks for taking the time to post the image, and others on your site. Well done.
Thanks for the suggestions Mahler one. It's a 4x5 contact print, so cropping turns it into a bookmark. When/if I attempt an enlarged silver version, I'll certainly try your suggestions.
One of the problems with these old Victorian structures, is they're not always straight. I remember that I lined up the pipe on the right to parallel the frame - and didn't notice how it skews the left side.
