Winter was coming to the north Iceland that days. It was pretty cloudy day with some bright spots and the light was changing in very fast pace. This is the only film from Iceland I had not made a note about exposure.
Thanks. I was pretty sure that lights will be without texture. Frankly, it was one of few thing I have not doubts. It was so fast changing light situation, with lens pretty close in the direction of sun. I was covering lens with hand and made two frames. One is with hand in the picture, this is the second one.
Very nice. I too, like the softness of the water in the foreground and left side. I also like the way the sun lights the mist, making rays. This would be beautiful as a very large print on the wall.
The right (facing) dark rock formation in the shadows makes this so special! Wonderfuly done! Some folks would crop out that shadow and your keeping it here in its grandness makes this so outstanding.
What I was fascinated in this scene was the whole scale of light from dark shadows to the glare on the water. Composition was a problem because the left side was changing / that dark side of waves/. Actually I was prepared to crop to the square format from the left side if necessary. Luckily, finally it works in the full format.
