This is the first of a series I'm doing playing with the concept/construct of a 19th Century portrait parlor, using the posing and staging conventions and twisting them with modern subjects. I'm also playing with the pairing of clothed/nude subjects and the ordering of the pair - the nude is first in the western left-to-right reading order to make you think of it as the first condition, and the clothed in contrast, rather than the conventional clothed as normative.
