Yes I would be inclined to do the same. That cloud formation is just terrific and your compostion is almost perfect for it.

This is excellent. As for cropping, I wouldn't do too much. The road adds to the sense of depth. My eye is drawn to the dark rectangular spot on the white line at the bottom center, so I'd consider cropping just past that area.

Fantastic landscape! I too wouldn't do any cropping as I think your framing is excellent the way it is. Great visual impact.
