It would have been nice to be closer and loose the fan, but you found the "moment" and used film.. locations like this are hard to document on film when ISO 2000 on the D700 with a 105 1.8 looks so nice.
I'd love to create exclusively on film... but I photograph so often in locations dark like this (and in color).

Hi VPW, I did experiment with cropping the fan, but it didn't quite look as 'together'. And yes, I turned and saw this and couldn't do much but just shoot.
I will post up a rendition with a closer crop.
