It's looking like your having problems with the scanner. But the portraits looks great. why the f/32 with shooting a studio portrait. one sec. leaves a lot of chances for blurred shots.
 
Your right. I can't seem to shoot in the wide open range for some reason. Force of habit seems to take over from shooting landscapes and a stop down on autopilot. The older I get the harder it is to brake old habits. I shot these outdoors under a canopy with bounced light from a reflector, more experimenting than anything else. I think the scanner is alright, it's operator error with the camera to stopped down and to long exposure.
 
I totally understand. I'm always on stop down mode. even when i hand hold my 35mm I want it to be f/16 or f/22. I started trying to shoot large format a f/11 and f/22 when possible.I found that my images were even sharper than before.
