I think this is a cracker. Love the composition and contrast. Really suits the panoramic format.
On the subject of windfarms, there are now many in the Scottish Highlands, and with the SNP election win, likely to be a lot more. In my opinion they are a big red herring: as a means of mass energy production they are inefficient, they can't store electricity like hydro, and need 'underwritten' by other sources of electricity to cope with the surges in demand for power at different times during a 24hr cycle. But given the massive subsidies, I can see why energy companies are enthusiastic...! See http://www.jmt.org/wind-analysis-report.asp
Thank you everyone for your comments, much appreciated. I'm glad that you noticed the contrast and comparsion between the two scources of energy, ancient and modern. Cutting turf is now banned by the EU in an attempt to conserve the boglands. Gavin that's an interesting paper on wind power, I was aware that they were responsible for the death of a lot of birds. But like Tony I still find them a novelty in the landscape, but maybe my attitude towards them will change over time.
