Very nice location portrait.... My only "critique" is that the middle pole appears to be embedded into his head right where his ear attaches. While "in the moment" we often miss the impact of how a telephoto lens flattens the field and pulls far away background objects too close to the main subject. Having said that, this photograph shows the quality that you can get from 35mm with good exposure and printing.
 
Thank you for the compliment! I should have seen the middle piling. All I would have needed to do was take a step to the left for separation. A step to the right would hide the piling completely behind him. A second is all I needed to reposition myself
