I'd setup the speed graphic for some environmental portraits on Easter, but the kids were too sugared up to cooperate. After a couple shots, I left it behind and had fun with the TLR. This TLR has a simple "inferior" lens which does a nice job with trees out of focus in the background and is super sharp at mid-range distances.
I've come back to this one a few times, unsure if it worked for me, or not. I like her pensive expression, and she's adorable...
I find the Speed Graphic a bit distracting in what is, essentially, a high key portrait. When I crop the top, just until it touches her hat, it is more compelling for me. Still, I think it will be a family favorite for many, many years... Thanks for posting.
Thanks; I've got better photos of my daughter from the day without the speed graphic in the picture; I'll post one in a couple days when I get a chance to scan more. This one sorta tells the story many would sympathize with that small children and LF is a tough combination.
