Did the cops show up? I've heard so many stories about photo'ing bridges and the cops, that I must wonder. I photo'd a couple of bridges this summer and nothing. Maybe I didn't use a big enough camera.
I would kinda hope that they would; but for the most part, maybe unfortunately, they don't when it concerns infrastructure of lesser importance. I've shot a few frames of causeway at the beach in North Carolina from a fishing and observation dock, which was directly connected to the support pilings. Only the fishermen gave me any notice.
I know that its been talked about in another forum thread, but I would welcome the challenge by police. It may take a couple of minutes out of my shoot, but I don't mind saying who I am and what I'm doing. Private property owners are usually less predictable than police.
Oh, by the way DPHPhoto: You've done some interesting framing here and given me a few ideas... it looks like you got a good exposure of the underside shadow area. It looks like it was a tough day to shoot landscapes
No cops, but a few fishermen gave me funny looks. The path to this spot is just off a parking lot for a bike path; of course the bike path goes in the opposite direction. No fences or anything, so it's hard to say if you're supposed to be there or not, but lots of trash. Slightly overcast day, but I'm so used to getting caught in the rain with my 4X5 that it seemed like perfect weather.
As for exposure: I don't have access to a densitometer, so for a speed test I just cut the recommended e.i. in half. I'm trying JandC 400 at 200 and using HC110 at 1/2 of dil. E, 8 min at 70 degrees. It's looking good. Thanks you guys for your nice comments. Dean
