Dry Rice

Dry Rice

I was riding a bike near Xizhou in Yunnan China with my Fuji rangefinder slung over my shoulder and came across this scene. I loved the way the rice was lit in the foreground and the haze in the distance. I waited for a bike or cart to come across the scene. I'm pretty happy with the way it turned out.

Fuji GA645zi, Tmax 400, orange filter, Ilford MGWT with selenium and sepia toning
I've read about the different ways of conveying form on a 2 dimensional surface. Layering, highlight and shadow, chiaroscuro, and atmospheric, this image makes maximal use of all of them. It should be in a textbook. Great capture and print.

You should be, great moment you captured.

Beautiful shot, and the toning effect is just perfect for it.
