I agree with Michael, today's obsession with sharpness especially in female portraits is very unflattering, Emil's portrait of this beautiful young woman is sharp in the right places, the eyes and the face, and soft at the periphery, and soft although quite contrasty lighting produce a dreamlike quality, many photographers who attempt this sort of work could take lessons from this shot.
