A few snaps taken on a recent hike into the portion of Eaton Canyon that has been closed since 1978. I only went as far as Penultimate Fall this time, though in the past I have hiked the entire canyon from the bottom up. It is one of the most rugged and impenetrable canyons in the entire San Gabriel Mountains. It is heaven to me being up there surrounded by the sights and sounds of nature, without another human being anywhere in sight or earshot. It is my favorite getaway. I could disappear up there for days on end and still be happy about being there.
I had just got my Bessa R, so I was excited to shoot with my Summitar again. I couldn't wait to see positive pix, so I shot XP2 and took it to Walgreen's. These pix are from Walgreens scans and have not been printed yet.
A shot of the top portion of the fall. It is fun to slide off of it and drop 40 feet into the pool below, but I did not do it on this trip. I like it, even though certain parts of it cannot really be called part of the picture, because they lack any pictorial value.
In all of the pix, Walgreens went quite a bit heavy on the digital sharpening. I hope it does not grate too much.
