Ryde in Snow

Pictures taken on a walk from Ryde to Seaview after heavy snow (and during a light snow shower).
Location
Ryde, Isle ofWight, England
Equipment Used
Yashica Minister
Exposure
1/60 f8
Film & Developer
Ilford SFX 200, Prescysol
Paper & Developer
Ilford RC MGIV, Ilford Multigrade
Lens Filter
None (SFX used as normal black and white film)
No trickery from me. This is what the prints look like (actually they look better than this). I don't know if it's normal for this film when used like this as I have not used it like this before but it does give a nice old fashioned grainy look which seems to suit the snowy subject matter quite well.

Nice series Steve

Palm Trees and snow - not a great combination

Can you explain the thinking of SFX and Snow ?

Thanks

Martin

The thinking behind the SFX and snow combination was: "I'm going out for a walk in the snow, I think I will take a camera. What film have I got? Oh, only some old SFX!".

I would have prefered some FP4+ but I do like how these have turned out.

The shots have come out well Steve

I was just wondering if you had a "Cunning Plan" as Baldrick from Blackadder used to say for SFX and Snow

Such serendipitous experiments like this can open whole new avenues to our photography
