Turning your back on all that

Taken at the Semana Santa Festival in Spain. I noticed the figure on the billboard and thought that it might contrast with the parade moving up the street. It was then just a matter of waiting until I thought that the composition was right.

Hi Vincent, the amount of post production you've done on this image has created a great image, really worth the wait for the two guys, love the idea here, Paul.

Very nice print and well put together, I'm in the U.S. and mistaken these two fellas as Klu Klax Klan members then read your info list as taken in Spain.

It is a very interesting picture, Vincent. I wish I knew more about the parade. I'm thinking looking up some more info on it will enhance the viewing of your excellent photograph.
The timing is perfect. Great job.

The girl walking is the only one with a face , her shadow merging with a letter makes you look twice , the cones and the capes are very graphic create three shadows although the third cape/cones is not visible at first glance.... love the textures of the old riped paper. All the elements come together with your anchor(billboard) creating a controlled chaos....Wonderful street as well as the darkroom work ...

Thanks everyone for your comments. Semana Santa (Holy Week) is celebrated in Spain and many other countries with spanish influence. It dates back to the 16th. century when the Catholic Church decided to educate the people in a visable way the events surrounding Christ's crucifixion. They have hugh processions where floats depicting scenes from the Passion of Christ are carried through the streets accompanied by hooded penitents atoning for their misdeeds.
It is a photographers paradise with endless photo's to be taken during both the day and night. I have visited the festival on 4 occasions and have held an exhibition featuring the work that i have taken.
