Under Mao, Beijing (2010)

This is the gate into the Forbidden City. After Mao won the fight for China in 1949, the banners on either side of his photo were added, reading "Long Live the Chinese People".
A steady stream of people constantly go in and out, to see this wonder. I had my camera on a tripod to get this scene sharply...shortly after a guard politely, but firmly, told me to move along. Just in case you decide to set up shop and make a picture!
