moss and branches

I don't particularly like trying to photograph my yards during noon to late afternoon so these are pretty rare attempts. The contrast and an almost unescapable harshness seems to plague me. To make matters worse I used a combo of TMY-2 and TmaxRS which is not exactly a low contrast team. Oh well I had to try.

Doesnt seem harsh to me Miles.... Great contrast range and well rendered.... I've not tried TMAX RS... only regular TMAX developer and replenished at that... It does season and any perceived 'harshness' has the edge taken off a little after around 10 or so films have been through it.

thanks Andrew ... I put the part B pak in the bottle and use 1+9 single shot. I just need to dial in a little more control on roll film processing. My sheet film in BTZS tubes is really nice. I actually like this combo with TMY-2 and is at least this year's go to soup

The contrast and gradation are just right for this picture and perfect for this topic. Proper use of this film - developer combination and very nice yard-image.

Not too harsh at all. Very nice brightness. Roll film is tricky, I think, since all exposures are a little bit different. But I'm sure you'll be able to dial it in nicely.
Try agitating a little less, ever two minutes, or every three minutes. That will give you the same amount of shadow detail, and the highlights will calm down a bit.

thanks Bertus and Thomas I appreciate your comments a lot!
