Possibly just my opinion, but I'd bring the contrast down a hair and print it a little darker. Or it could be the scan that's making it look too punchy.

I have an Epson V750 to do my scanning. It's still probably the best consumer/prosumer grade scanner on the market at the moment. But even before upgrading your scanner, I'd suggest taking a class on how to use a scanner. The best tool in the world won't help you if you don't understand why it is producing the results it does, and most consumer grade scanners are more than adequate for producing scans for web posting.
