Looking Into 1

For me this shot has a greater sense of depth mainly due to your focus being set on the background. I feel that so much of the foreground is out of focus the viewer is drawn in straight away to the back of the photo, giving him a feeling of moving into and through the picture. The variety of detail captured in the background lends it a naturally resting place for the eye.
