Color Test for Old Ikonta

Color Test for Old Ikonta

Portra 400 through uncoated (1936) lens. Apart from the dust and a few Newton Rings, I'm satisfied the old iron delivers the goods.

scan, complete w/ Newton Rings
Yes -- good neutral colour and SHARP but WHERE are the Newton's Rings in this scan -- cannot see them -- you have 'got away with it' well!

I actually first discovered what they were on an early shot of the train tressel. 'Looked like irregular shaped oil slicks on parts of the scan. If they don't show here, I'm glad. The old Ikonta has been really pleasing. 'Partly that I'm able to use it, partly from noticing a distinct feel to how it renders an image. The 'blad could not make this shot look like this. I strongly suspect that the old hands at LF have alot to say about the tone & feel of this or that vintage lense - like that Pinkham lens shot of the truck interior recently. That's one I won't forget soon.
