Color sculpture

Part of a series I worked on last year.
Location
California
Equipment Used
Bronica GS-1, 120 Macro w/ extension tube
Ok . . .
SO. . . camera, extntn tube... film...
how do the individual frames become a single image?

I like the colors, the saturation, the texture of the surfaces. . .
I am not so keen on the spacial arangements....
For one thing, alot of the hot spots are along the margins... which is unconventional, so ... I'm looking for a particular raison d'entre for that.. . otherwise, all those bright spots just serve to draw our eyes away from the center of the pic.... blah blah tech. stuff... . what I'm getting at - I can't quite tell from one piece if the disjointed feel is part of your purporse, or if it's just this work out of the series.. or what's up.
There is definetly some nice consistent camera work going on - no questioning that.
What I'm wondering is "where are the aesthetics are leading the viewer?"
Maybe seeing the rest of the series would help inform the viewer of the needed semiotics - cause definetly this is not a "every man" kind of work - you do have to have some prior understanding before you can walk up and "get it".

Good comments, thank you.
In this series I was looking at the combination & interplay between images. Each individual image doesn't really stand on its own well. But together they do work -- kind of like a football team. Or music - a better analogy. I look at these combined images more like combined notes - white spots being highlights sprinkled in now and again. I liked the sculptural quality of the objects. I was pleased with that combo of sculptural, pure color, and intertwining lines kind of like musical notes.
Don't know if that's a good response to your comments. But that's what I was working toward.

I can dig the interest with lines and the way various images work together John... really.
Not wanting to push my view beyond polight limits, I'd only point to the fact that THIS is your finished work... not the collection of individual images.. right... and in appraising this work, I feel that having the highlights along the outer edge detracts from our attention to the lower value (i.e. tonal value) innards of the visual scrulpture...
What I'm saying is: when you look at any finished image, generaly the brightest bit is also near or ON your focal point.. the center of attention.. . by having the strongest highlights out and around the inner workings of the image, I feel, it moves our eyes away from those elements you state you want the viewer to most carefully appreciate.

SO - how were the individual images stitched together? i.e. how did they end up as this finished, composite, work?

OK - enough from me.

Good points, and I sincerely appreciate your comments. That's good input and it makes me think differently about the image. And that's the point of a critique gallery, isn't it?
I pieced together the separate images in Photoshop. Originally I was going to load them up as separate images, but again the whole idea was to look at them as a collection, not as separate items.
