I really like how you've captured the scene with a somewhat diagonal flow with the basket area in the lower right hand corner. Makes a more interesting scene then just a balloon in a totally vertical inflated position such as the background ones already in flight.
Thank you all for the kind comments! The results of this shoot have put me in a much better mood after a string of failures. The 3d effect and great colors can be given up to the wonderful Mamiya 80mm Blue Dot lens, the Kodak Ektar film, and the beautiful dawn lighting. It's awfully hard to go wrong with that combination. As fast as things move once the FAA gives the launch signal, composition is a very haphazard, see-it-and-shoot-it-NOW kind of thing. There is a lot of luck involved. This is much better suited to 35mm and I'm astounded that, as far as the technical aspects of exposure and focus go, I was able to get 36 keepers out of 36 shots. Good composition is mostly a happy accident. During the shoot, a woman who most definitely had her digital act together and had the appearance of a pro, walked by, looked at the Mamiya and said, "Now there's a challenge." All I could think was, "There's someone who gets it!"
