It was a fortress in the 13th century.

Right ... and the top of the tower as well. The tower was built nearly 500 years ago. The clock was installed in the 20's and the top was rebuilt 10 or 15 years ago. Saludos !
 
Wonderful place, and very evocative shot! A couple of months ago I was with my long-suffering wife Helen in the Dordogne Valley in France, and saw some beautiful old 12-13th Century belltowers like this... Makes me want to go to your village Cheers, David.
