Thanks for the kind words guys. I knew that this would be difficult to print because of the extreme contrast in the scene. Before I even made the exposure in camera, I decided that the darkest shadows would be unimportant. The "tree" is artificial and the ends of the branches are white. The "bird" ornament is also white. There was also some added light from household lamps behind the camera. I bracketed the exposure by one stop increments. Film was processed normally. This was the "best" negative on the roll, but it was still really thin and printing time was very short. The scan that I made actually looks a little better than the print. I will probably cut printing time down a little more.
