thanks guys...i was lucky enough to spend half a day in this place a number of years ago before they began to redo the entire building. my father was the dentist here for 25 years and the kids were his favorites so this wing was special to him...it brought him to tears when he saw the first printing of this negative.. i am happy you liked it. ~~marianne

Wonderful images. My folks used to live in Elk Rapids and my mom worked in the hospital right out of nursing school. I remember looking in the windows long after it was abandon and being haunted by all the stories the place must have held.

david..depending on your mother's age and years spent there, she probably knew my father...it holds many memories for me and as i walked thru the halls i was amazed at how calm i felt while the other photograher with me was totally 'creeped out'. i guess it all depends on one's perspective...many many people have photographed this building and the surrounding buildings and grounds over the years..it is an amazing property in SO many ways...i am happy you and everyone liked the shot....thanks all ~~marianne
