Forgive me Arigram for I have sinned. I have posted carnal images of trees, rocks and stumps. Please don't castrate me, I'll have to get a different bicycle seat.
Very nicely done. Beautiful light and toning, and the hills in the background seal the deal so far as I am concerned. The image is making me think it's time to take another look at the stuff I shot in Japan in the late 50's.
Victor, I'm glad someone got the inside joke. I hope Ari chimes in.
Thomas, this is a trail to one of the 39 Buddhist temples in Chichibu. Along the way there are Sutras carved into the the upright stones for the pilgrams to chant.
George, thank you for the encouraging words. It took 10 months to get here, hopefully I turned a corner and the real fun is about to begin.
Nicely done. You've handled what appears to be a very high contrast scene very well. A little burning in of the highlights along the right hand edge of the frame may help to keep the eye within the scene.
Daniel, I saw that on the right edge, my eye kept going up to the tree in the corner, thought no one would notice...wrong. Thank you for the comment, peer review is essential for me to learn. This was my 4th work print, I should have been more patient and tried a couple more iterations.
