Chicago Orchid Festival 2014

Seems like I see photos of this event from you every year at this time. You must really love orchids. Beautiful photo of beautiful flowers.

There is an annual orchid festival that has with time withered down to only two places because the others have all gone bust and out of business. No doubt due in part to their heat bill in winter. Even Hausermann which used to have 5 acres under glass is downsized by about half and can no longer heat by burning as they once did to run their boilers. Still, the festival is a lot of fun for amateur growers like myself. I have collected plants for over 40 years in my greenhouse; many are species from Hausermann.
