  1. Yes
It's a good scene and everything is right with the exception of the eyes. I wonder what has caused her eyes to look a bit like pinholes? What stands out is the black pupils which gives her eyes a strange look. The coloured irises surrounding the pupils are almost not visible. Maybe her eyes are naturally this way and I have no idea how you can easily darken the very pale irises.

The eyes are not normal, what is going on there?

Grahamp has it - Cheridan does cosplay and makes her own costumes, including the yellow pair of contact lenses. Trust me it looks really odd in colour!

@Colin Corneau It is striking but a little disturbing. It is the sort of thing that film studios devise when they want to show what a hybrid human looks like. No doubt she is a fine person but those eyes do nothing for her appearance. Maybe a sign of my age

[following up] Here we have a person holding a woodland coronet, for want of a better description, and unusually dressed for the outdoor locale. But it is the effect of the contacts that draws the attention. Which goes to show the importance of eyes in a portrait.

It takes a little time to adjust to people outside our usual pattern. I work with enough people with visible tattoos and piercings to know that once my OCD side has worked it out, I won't notice. It is the individual's normal. I actually like this - questions, lots of questions.

There are some interesting things in those Manitoban woods!

This is a costume the woman designed for a serious hobby in cosplay. I was tagging along on a photo shoot a friend was doing (on digital) using smoke grenades and the overall scenery...pretty neat stuff, actually. My quick portrait was at the end of the shoot.

Turned off at first, but as a fan of Colin's work I worried about that for a day, then Googled cosplay...and found cosplay activity in my own city in context of Meetup.com....then read up on its relationship with science fiction (going back into the 1920s...then followed various links to earliest Christianity and Judaism in southern Europe...love the internet. And I now very much appreciate Colin's photo and wonder what this girl is like when she's not in costume. Perhaps a clerk or gang member or priest?
