Chapel Road 2

Looking the other way, not so keen on this one, the tower feels too light.

Looks better to me. Less is more in terms of extent of buildings and there's clouds. Essential in B&W sky shots but very helpful in colour too.

Tower looks fine. Nice contrast to the tree shaded building next to it.

Andy, don't give up. These are all very very nice.

The Mirrormere though shows what appears to be some crossover to me unless it was shot very late, near sunset. The shadows are blue and the highlights are magenta. If it is a sunset scene, I woulld suggest a renaming to "Mirrormere at sunset" or some such to dispel the 'image' of being off a bit.

I really like this series very much. I seldom comment though on images because critiques are very much opinion and I don't have a calibrated monitor.

Thank you both for your comments, you have been very encouraging. I used to shoot colour all the time, and regularly got great shots, but these days I seem to have real trouble 'seeing' a shot in colour. There is one more from this roll I like, but it is, to my eye, very cliched and not as saturated as I would like, so I haven't uploaded it. Here's a link to it: http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v223/Minitar1/ColourFilm/DOFButtercups2.jpg

The buttercup scene is very nice, but the background is busy. See my flower photo in the gallery. It isn't perfect either. Somewhat similar attempt.

I love your efforts. Keep it up.
