Thanks-It was a very odd one and one I had never seen before. In fact, I saw several like it.

Colonel, These are right over the plate. Woodsman of the World was big. I've seen stones from the southeastern states, I have one from Colorado, west of the springs, Wash state & lots here in OR. As it turns out, they were an insurance & retirement outfit. The stones vary ALOT but virtually all were distinctive & handsome. I like it that the humble working guy got a dang good stone. I understand Telephone lineman has the highest mortality in the states, but lumberjack is right behind. 'Had my back yard logged last yr. One close call for an experienced tree faller, I went to the funeral of another, killed by a falling tree at another location. As Blansky said - there's a built-in pathos to the graveyard shot. But I like them - particularly when adjacent to & part of a church. 'Natural connection. Thanks for posting Col.

I went to that cemetery many years ago when I first got the Nikon F2 but cannot remember seeing those. Maybe I have a different eye today than back then. Very unusual marker.

Yes, a very interesting subject of exploration. I read HiHo's comment first, seeing Woodsman of the World and thought it a coincidence. Then i looked up to see macfred's link to the WoodmenLife building. I was living in Omaha when the old building was dropped by demolition in the center of old town, really cool to watch! WOW is a big deal there as you say, and of course the infamous clear channel AM station of same call letters. Funny about the call sign. FCC started with the W's in the east, and west of the Mississippi River assigned radios stations with K. That is why WOW in Omaha and KDKU in Pittsburgh. Go figure.
