The first time I looked, I thought it was too "busy". But the more time I spend with it, I can see what you mean. Many interesting layers to explore, a very very beautiful print. Thanks for sharing.
Someone wrote about Eliot Porter's photography saying that his prints were visually interesting in their entirety and in all their details. This has that quality. It's visually very rich and engaging throughout. Very well done.
Magical. I'll bet the print is stunning. You've managed to generate an enormous depth of field here which helps to give the print a texture of its own. Great work. Shawn
Intense, the lines of the trees work really well with the lily pads. Kind of like it with the top 1/3 croped off, scroll up and have a look.
Cheers, Tony
Tony, I have considered cropping the negative differently (this print is already a crop [gasp!]). Leaving off the top portion of the print seemed to diminish the sense of looking "through" the scene. The thought running through my mind was, "...looking through the forest to see the trees.... and grasses, and lillies, etc." Thanks for your suggestion.
Hi Mark. I'm still working on printing the last few negatives from O'Neil Lake. I hope something interesting comes from them, since it was such a beautiful scene.
