I really like your high vantage point - that's unusual and attractive. I'm left wondering though whether you could have made a stronger picture if you'd taken advantage of your height and ignored the floor completely.
I like Ian's idea. If you crop the picture up to the bottom of those 2 doorways the roof construction details become the the main point of interest. And what fantastic workmanship was employed in the building of the cathedral. It also removes that nearest hanging light which catches the eye too easily.

thanks for the comments. next time i will try this for sure.
one of the limitations was the window i was shooting through. you can see the frame just in the top left of the photo. i would somehow have to move the camera forward more to avoid the frame. i will give it a try for sure. maybe a longer lens would do this....
Now I'm really impressed. Usually window edges are really ugly and distracting, but you managed to work that constraint into the composition so well that I didn't even see it! You should have kept quiet ;-)
thanks photomc. i love shooting with the 165. a bit hard to see at times...especially inside...and you know they are so fun to shoot inside with.
thanks Ian. i had to tell.....i tried my best to make sure it was not in the photo. i got to use shift (new to me) and it was great.i thought i had it right. guess it was too dark up in that corner....i missed it.
i had accidently brought J&C film with me that day. i usually shoot foma. well all 4 J&C were way thin....thankfully i shot one sheet of foma. it saved the day. i may have had better cropping on some of the other sheets. i guess i will have to go
