Castle in the wood

It's tucked away in a quiet corner (well during the week anyway)

You are fortunate to have such photogenic ruins that are not overrun with tourists. I especially like the bend in the tree trunk that repeats the shape of the door.

I think that this interesting photograph would be improved by printing on photographic paper. IMO it needs a bit more local contrast to bring out the details.

I must ask if the green filtration accomplished what you intended.

Hi, It was quite a dark negative as I'm trying to sort my developing times. The green filter was used to bring out what little green was there. There are still a lot of last years leaves on the ground so it was quite dark. We all take this area for granted, many locals have never bothered to visit, a camera opens the eyes. Thanks for the comment.

Beautiful Gothic feel and I like the way the tree in the foreground adds to it's hidden feel. Look forward to seeing a scan of the wet print when you have a chance.

I hope that you will make many more photographs of this extraordinary site in all the seasons. Does it ever get blanketed in snow?
