It's in the nature of art that your comment makes the photograph exceptionally interesting. The subject's stunningly beautiful face and serene self confidence juxtaposed (I apologize for that word, but it works here) with the photographer's (your) presence here plus the comment makes the whole far greater than the sum of its parts. I applaud you for an exceptional image. Bravo! (And, I'm sorry if reality here is painful....still....just terrific!)
The colors and exposure are all very interesting, and the image is wonderful. I'm sorry for your loss (in some way, it must be a loss) but this too shall pass and you will always feel a flutter but there will be a new and different butterfly soon enough.
My sense is that I will be respectful of Chris' wish. If the image was difficult and he feels it unworthy of discussion, then I will set it aside and look at it no further. That way there will be no chance of any reaction by me that might prompt the urge to inquire about or discuss it.

I think if he didn't want it to be a topic, he wouldn't have posted the image, I just think he wanted to share the anguish without having to deal with explaining it, just to let us know it existed and share a piece of himself.
