Thank you Dave. No spirit level I'm sorry to say - was traveling without tripod and stuff. As I recall there was little or no slope to the land, so I might just give the neg a tweak next time I'm printing.

In that case Jack you need about a 1/4 inch extra leather on the sole of your right shoe.

I'm not one to second guess how anyone interprets a scene. However since you asked, for me, I would look for a much more dramatic presentation. Much higher contrast on the castle, deep and forboding (sp?) clouds, and the sheep rather white and "virginal" looking. For me at least this would tell quite a story about the struggle between good and evil and how close they are to each other. It's to bad we can't post "our" version in this thread as I could quickly show you what I mean using PS.

Beyond that I think you have a winner here and if the way you printed says what you want to say, then it's just fine.

I feel the very opposite of Eric. I love the light and airy feel of this one. The detail in the walls at this distance looks superb.

I think Dave is right about the slope. I find I need a lot more than 1/4 inch of extra leather to level me up after some Speyside dew. Sometimes walking along the edge of the pavement and road it's about 4 inches difference in length between the left and right legs.

I think the building are straight so it's the land that is sloped. Actually it's funny it seems all my LF stuff is 1 degree tilted to the right. I have to adjust everything in PS before I can post them.

Eric, having scrutinizd so of my other images I think I have a systematic rightward tilt built in. Thank-you for your critique.

I agree with Eric in that I would like to see more drama in this one, especially the sky. The sheep definately need to stay, great shot.
